Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2020

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

2020 Ontario Sunshine List: Seniors and Accessibility Top Earners

Every year, the Ontario government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants with six-figure salaries. According to the document, Seniors and Accessibility's 53 staffers made the Sunshine List, earning total compensation of $6,625,365.60 in 2019.

Topping the list for the Seniors and Accessibility was Deputy Minister Denise Cole, who brought home $236,173.38 in 2019.

Following Denise Cole was Assistant Deputy Minister, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Ann Hoy, with annual earnings of $200,190.73. Assistant Deputy Minister, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Susan Picarello made $198,571.18, Assistant Deputy Minister Abigail Katz Starr made $184,388.30, and Director, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act Policy and Standards Mary Bartolomucci round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $176,608.60 for the Seniors and Accessibility 2020 Sunshine List.
